You know those Liberal Party state opposition leaders, who promised to fight the carbon tax if only you would elect them premier?

As predicted here on this blog, they are all talk, no action, when it comes to actually fighting the bankers’ CO2 derivatives scam, despite plenty of expert legal advice that there are solid grounds to challenge the legislation in the High Court.

NSW drops carbon tax challenge

THE passage of the carbon tax has received a boost, with legal advice to NSW Premier Barry O’Farrell suggesting that a High Court challenge to block the tax would fail.

On Friday, Mr O’Farrell said NSW would consider joining a potential bid by Queensland to block the July 1 implementation of the carbon tax in the courts.

Note well: O’Farrell’s original, loud and oft-repeated pre-election promise was not conditional on having another State premier to hold his hand.

But The Sun-Herald understands Mr O’Farrell has already abandoned any thought of leading an assault on the Gillard government. Sources confirmed advice had come back that a legal challenge would be likely to fail in proving the carbon tax was unconstitutional.

So, advice that you are “likely” to fail is sufficient reason to not fulfill your pre-election promise, hey Bazza? Sounds like a convenient excuse from a twisting and turning liar to me.

 

Mr O’Farrell has made political mileage out of the carbon tax since it was announced. Last week, the NSW Energy Minister, Chris Hartcher, blamed the upcoming impost for the 16 per cent electricity price rises approved by the independent pricing regulator.

The reluctance of NSW to challenge the controversial tax is likely to slow momentum for a High Court bid. Victoria, like NSW, has said it would consider joining a Queensland bid.

The West Australian Premier, Colin Barnett, has stated publicly that his advice is that a bid would fail. The Queensland Premier, Campbell Newman, said he would not act without at least one other state with him in alliance.

The fix is in.

Unsurprising. And just what this blogger predicted.

Because when all the major political parties are beholden for the loans they need to run their election campaigns, to the banksters who are behind the global drive for a new, legal, yet wholly unregulated, unmonitored CO2 derivatives casino, you know in advance what the outcome will be.

Know thy real enemy.

The Guardian: Catastrophic Anthropogenic Global Warming Causes Volcanic Eruptions and Earthquakes

This must take the number 1 award for utter bullshit, but according to the Guardian, CAGW causes volcanic eruptions and earthquakes.

Some excerpts from the article.

Could it be then, that if we continue to allow greenhouse gas emissions to rise unchecked and fuel serious warming, our planet's crust will begin to toss and turn once again?

The bottom line is that through our climate-changing activities we are loading the dice in favour of escalating geological havoc at a time when we can most do without it. Unless there is a dramatic and completely unexpected turnaround in the way in which the human race manages itself and the planet, then long-term prospects for our civilisation look increasingly grim.

…and when the debilitating effects of anthropogenic climate change are insinuating themselves increasingly into every nook and cranny of our world and our lives, the last thing we need is for the dozing subterranean giant to awaken.

The Guardian and the writer of this rubbish should be ashamed.

FACT: Earthquakes occur due to Plate Tectonic movements – Earthquakes do not occur due to Man-Made Climate Change – period.

Return of the Climate Sceptics

The authors of the Jan. 27 Wall Street Journal op-ed, 'No Need to Panic about Global Warming,' respond to their ecotard critics.

…the graph below is the measured annual temperature of the earth since 1989, just before the first report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Also shown are the projections of the likely increase of temperature, as published in the Summaries of each of the four IPCC reports, the first in the year 1990 and the last in the year 2007.

These projections were based on IPCC computer models of how increased atmospheric CO2 should warm the earth. Some of the models predict higher or lower rates of warming, but the projections shown in the graph and their extensions into the distant future are the basis of most studies of environmental effects and mitigation policy options. Year-to-year fluctuations and discrepancies are unimportant; longer-term trends are significant.

From the graph it appears that the projections exaggerate, substantially, the response of the earth's temperature to CO2 which increased by about 11% from 1989 through 2011. Furthermore, when one examines the historical temperature record throughout the 20th century and into the 21st, the data strongly suggest a much lower CO2 effect than almost all models calculate.

Ecotard’s Strike Back: Check with Climate Scientists for Views on Climate

Last week, I noted an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal signed by 16 scientists and engineers with the general thesis that “drastic action” to curb catastrophic anthropogenic global warming is unnecessary and not economically beneficial. Today, climate scientist’s ecotards who support taking drastic action to try and mitigate the effects of so called catastrophic anthropogenic global warming have written a rebuttal – with 39 authors — in WSJ.

Even with their rebuttal, the ecotards continue to blatantly lie. Take this line for example.

Climate experts know that the long-term warming trend has not abated in the past decade. In fact, it was the warmest decade on record.”

That’s utter bullshit. Below is the actual truth as reported in the Daily Mail:

The supposed ‘consensus’ on man-made global warming is facing an inconvenient challenge after the release of new temperature data showing the planet has not warmed for the past 15 years.

The figures suggest that we could even be heading for a mini ice age to rival the 70-year temperature drop that saw frost fairs held on the Thames in the 17th Century.

Based on readings from more than 30,000 measuring stations, the data was issued last week without fanfare by the Met Office and the University of East Anglia Climatic Research Unit. It confirms that the rising trend in world temperatures ended in 1997.

The scientists in the WSJ op-ed rebuttal state that a quote by Kevin Trenberth saying it was a “travesty” that they couldn’t “account for the lack of warming” was taken out of context in the “No Need to Panic” piece. They clarify what Trenberth was really saying was that the systems that track warming trends in the ocean were inadequate to show actual warming. Sure he was. Again the ecotards can’t be honest with the truth.

Interestingly, a blogger going by the name of “Zombie” on PJ Media writes that he has been looking into 1977 published book - The Weather Conspiracy: The Coming of the New Ice Age. Here are some of the things Zombie learned.

Climate change is happening faster than we realize and it will have catastrophic consequences for mankind.
There’s very little we can do to stop it at this late stage, but we might be able to save ourselves if we immediately take these necessary and drastic steps:

• Increase our reliance on alternative energy sources and stop using so much oil and other carbon-based fuels;
• Adopt energy-efficient practices in all aspects of our lives, however inconvenient;
• Impose punitive taxes on inefficient or polluting activities to discourage them;
• Funnel large sums of money from developed nations like the U.S. to Third World nations;
• In general embrace all environmental causes.

Sounds familiar, right? Zombie writes that these are exactly the same efforts that global warming alarmists are stating must be done to deal with impending consequence of “catastrophic” anthropogenic global warming. He points out in both cases that there is call to “cede power and money from the First World to the Third World”. This is already happening: at the conclusion of the most recent United Nations Conference on Climate Change in Durban, South Africa, there was an agreement to set up bodies that will collect, govern and distribute funds to poor countries adversely affected by “catastrophic” anthropogenic global warming.

Zombie expands on his opinion further:

The true purpose of climate change disaster-mongering is to permanently cripple the First World, and to elevate the Third World, in order to create a planet with no economic inequality. The goal remains constant; the supposed imminent catastrophes justifying it come and go as needed.

The 16 scientists in the WSJ piece don’t come right out to say that the ultimate goal of climate alarmism is to reduce economic inequality, but they do suggest we “follow the money”.
