The Guardian: Catastrophic Anthropogenic Global Warming Causes Volcanic Eruptions and Earthquakes

This must take the number 1 award for utter bullshit, but according to the Guardian, CAGW causes volcanic eruptions and earthquakes.

Could it be then, that if we continue to allow greenhouse gas emissions to rise unchecked and fuel serious warming, our planet's crust will begin to toss and turn once again?

The bottom line is that through our climate-changing activities we are loading the dice in favour of escalating geological havoc at a time when we can most do without it. Unless there is a dramatic and completely unexpected turnaround in the way in which the human race manages itself and the planet, then long-term prospects for our civilisation look increasingly grim.

…and when the debilitating effects of anthropogenic climate change are insinuating themselves increasingly into every nook and cranny of our world and our lives, the last thing we need is for the dozing subterranean giant to awaken.

The Guardian and the writer of this rubbish should be ashamed.

FACT: Earthquakes occur due to Plate Tectonic movements – Earthquakes do not occur due to Man-Made Climate Change – period.

A must read opinion piece published in the Wall Street Journal which was signed by 16 prominent scientists who state: There is no compelling scientific argument for drastic action to "decarbonize" the world's economy.

What Global Warming?

Good news for the Polar Bear but bad news for the Al Gore Tim Flannery CO2 alarmist team. The El Niño/Southern Oscillation (ENSO) and Pacific Decadal Oscillation (PDO) went south this decade and the warming has stopped.

And temperature isn’t the only thing that went south.

Prices for Certified Emission Reductions, known as CERs, for December 2012 delivery settled at 4.19 euros ($5.32 AUD) per metric ton on the ICE Futures Europe exchange on Friday 30 December 2011. The credits have lost over 80 per cent from their peak of 25.00 euros in July 2008.

Thanks to Julia Gillard and Bob Brown, Australian businesses will be paying $23.00 ($18.12 euros) per metric ton come 1 July 2012.

The Artificial Forests of the Future

WTF?

Giant fly-swats and freight containers may help prevent catastrophic climate change, say engineers. The Institution of Mechanical Engineers has come up with some ideas for what "artificial forests" - technologies that absorb CO2, in a similar way to trees - could look like in the future. These structures would use chemical processes or natural carbon sponges such as algae to take in carbon and store it, or even turn it into useful products.

The United Nations climate chief, Christiana Figueres, said recently that the world might need to look at such options in order to avoid the worst effects of global warming.

Tim Fox, head of energy and environment at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, said: "It is clear that work needs to be done to cut the amount of greenhouse gas emissions people produce. But we also need to look at creative and ingenious ways of preventing climate change by taking out the emissions we have already put in the atmosphere, particularly CO2 – essentially cleaning up air." He said the technology to make these contraptions already existed, though some of it is at a very early stage, and called for more funding for research and development.

And what will this all cost??? How many hundreds of billions would be spent on this pipe dream??? Again, it's just another case of show me the money - the squints have their hand out for more taxpayer money.

I suppose these artificial forests will be powered by wind turbines and solar? Has anyone calculated the CO2 emissions released in the fabrication and manufacture of these eco-gimmicks?

Here’s an idea, plant some more trees and build a dam. Use the stored water for the trees – Save a bomb and use nature’s CO2 eaters. While we’re at it, let’s encourage countries like Indonesia to stop clearing their rain forests for Palm Oil plantations.

Climate science is just science fiction. First the squints suggested Aliens may destroy humanity because of rising greenhouse emissions and now artificial forests.

The mind boggles.
